Media resources

Are you looking for the latest news or your next story on issues affecting our great marine nation? We have the facts, figures and people to answer all of your marine science questions. If you need facts for an article or program on climate change, coastal development, or the Great Barrier Reef we can help.

AIMS is Australia’s tropical marine science agency, and we have been helping government, industry and the public understand and manage Australia’s coastal and marine estate for more than 40 years.

Our research examines some of today's big marine science questions:

  • How will coral reef ecosystems respond to climate change?
  • What role do marine microbes play in healthy ecosystems?
  • How does good water quality support commercial fisheries, tourism and recreational angling?
  • What do we know and not know about how these massive, interconnected ecosystems work?

Can’t see your question? Then take a look at some of our other research or check out our marine science factsheets. Our scientists are also available to talk about their research.
