Lying 600km east of the New South Wales coastline, Lord Howe Island is a World Heritage-listed destination renowned for its endemic plant and animal species.

The most comprehensive and rigorous review about the effects of land-based activities on Great Barrier Reef water quality and ecosystem condition has been released today: the 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement.

The AIMS water quality team have recommenced field sampling in the coastal waters of the Fitzroy region in the southern Great Barrier Reef, in partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
