My research focuses on factors that time and disrupt marine invertebrate reproduction, and impact ecosystem recovery. I studied at University of Wollongong (Masters by Research) and the University of Western Australia (PhD), and have worked at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (ReefHQ) and James Cook University (MBD) before my current position at AIMS. I draw from ecotoxicology, ecology and environmental management principles to design laboratory and field experiments to determine pressure-response thresholds and identify cause-effect pathways of local stressors. This involves the development of risk assessment models and innovative methods to better predict and quantify response changes. My work is useful for monitoring and management of local water quality stressors, and also can be used to improve restoration site-selection success.
