AIMS Tropical Marine Research Facilities Project
The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) is an internationally renowned, world leader in the science underpinning sustainable development, conservation and management of tropical marine environments. The main research facility is located at Cape Ferguson, 50km from Townsville, with facilities also in Perth and Darwin.
With the Australian Government initiative to expand marine science infrastructure capability AIMS has been provided funding to undertake new infrastructure. The project titled the Vessel Berthing Facility is one of 9 sub-projects under the overarching banner ATMRFP. The sub-project involves construction of a new berthing facility and freight forwarding facility at the Port of Townsville in the new marine precinct.
Short lists of tenderers selected from this Expression of Interest stage will be invited to prepare detailed tenders on detailed contract documentation.
The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, in conjunction with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, August 2009, apply to this Project.
Applicants are invited to submit "Expressions of Interest" for consideration as a tenderer for the following trade contract packages:
- Construction of landside works primarily civil works and services, a 60m2 shed and a 50m2 demountable office.
- Construction of waterside works of a floating pontoon.
