Background
About

My background is in Engineering and Marine Robotics. I have extensive experience in the design, development and deployment of a wide range of ocean observing systems including autonomous and remotely operated vehicles, oceanographic moorings and surface telemetry buoys. On the analytical side, I have worked with marine data for over 10 years and have expertise in areas such as machine learning, data fusion, spatial analysis and image processing. I am an experienced field operator, cruise leader and dive supervisor, and have successfully delivered large scale ocean observing systems and data products to stakeholders including the Australian Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) and Darwin Port Corporation.

Education
2008
PhD, Marine Robotics, The Australian Centre for Field Robotics, The University of Sydney
2000
MEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, The University of Liverpool, UK
Research

The integration of new autonomous and semi-autonomous technologies, both hardware and software, into marine monitoring field campaigns and post-field trip data analyses.
