Shrimp
EST
Introduction
The
Australian Institute of Marine
Science (AIMS) and the
Commonwealth Scientific and
Industrial Research Organisation
(CSIRO) Livestock
Industries are both involved in characterising expressed
sequence tags (ESTs) in the giant
tiger prawn, Penaeus monodon.

Expressed
sequence tag data were generated from
complementary DNA libraries created
from cephalathorax (C), eyestalk (E)
and pleopod (P) tissue. Significant
database matches indicating putative
gene identities and species matches
are grouped according to functional
category in a
Current
Status table.
All
shrimp EST sequences have been
submitted to GenBank and more detail
can be obtained from the article,
"Tissue-Specific Expressed
Sequence Tags from the Black Tiger
Shrimp Penaeus monodon".
Lehnert S.A., Wilson K.J., Byrne K
and Moore S.S (1999). Marine
Biotechnology 1, 465-476. CSIRO Livestock Industries
have also submitted additional EST sequences
subsequent to this publication and these are also
included in the Shrimp
EST PmESTs tables.
