Egg Membranes:

Figure 3.5 In some spawnings it was observed that the hatching envelope did not rise from the egg. These eggs may be fertile but nevertheless fail to develop normally. Cleavage patterns in these eggs both symmetric and asymmetric. However, they fail to develop normally and will not hatch. These eggs can be distinguished from normal fertilised eggs (compare Figure 2.1c).
