The Townsville Town Common Environmental Park is just five
minutes drive from the city centre.
During the wet session, Brolgas, Jabirus and many other
wetland birds fly in to this low lying area. They move out again when the swamps dry up
and turn into cracking clay pans.
The park is also home to wallabies, echidnas and goannas.
