The approved Summary for Policymakers will be released during the
press conference on 6th April 2007 in Brussels. The report
provides a comprehensive analysis of how climate change is already
affecting natural and human systems, what the impacts will be in the
future and how far adaptation and mitigation can reduce these impacts.
It will contain a chapter on the expected impacts of climate change in
Australia and New Zealand including the Great Barrier Reef.
AIMS Climate expert Dr Janice Lough says the report won’t contain
any surprises but will provide a clear scientific consensus of present
and future threats of climate change in our region.
"The report is based on up-to-date scientific literature that has
been published over a number of years so most of the information is
already out among the scientific community."
