Information for volunteers

As an organization, we get a lot of enquiries about any volunteer work on offer. IPSTCG is a small group that operates entirely on a voluntary basis and although we do use additional volunteers, the numbers of sea turtles that nest on our local beaches are very few. We predominantly see incidental Flatback and Green turtles and volunteers may spend many nights on a beach without seeing a turtle. Our monitoring season lasts from October to March when we require help to monitor local beaches around Townsville.

We also require committed volunteers to help to keep our organization running, and this involves administrative tasks, such as maintaining our volunteer database, email correspondence, organizing talks, events and publicity and attending meetings. If you are interested in helping with any of these, please contact us at ipstcg@ballyhoo.com.au
