INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTERS

Oral Presentations

Oral Presentations will be limited to 15 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for questions (20 minutes in total), please ensure that you do not exceed this time frame. Session Chairs will be asked to rigidly enforce times as there will be three parallel sessions running.

You will be able to present your Oral using the following presentation media (please read guidelines for each media below):

  • Overhead projector
  • Slide Projector for 35mm slides
  • PowerPoint (PC Version Only)
Microsoft 2000 PowerPoint Version will be available

If you are planning to use Overhead Transparencies, please advise us that this is what you are using and bring these with you to your presentation.

For Slide Presentations, please ensure you load your slides into a slide carousel (provided at the conference) and check that they are loaded correctly (in the room provided). Your slides will need to be handed to the Conference Session Technician prior to the beginning of the morning session of the day you are presenting your oral.

Please ensure the carousel is labelled with your FIRST AND LAST NAME AND SESSION TIME IN CAPITAL LETTERS

If you are planning to use PowerPoint to make your oral presentation, please ensure that you do the following:

Save a minimum of two copies of your PowerPoint presentation and bring both of these with you.

If possible make sure your presentation is no larger than 1.44 MB (so it can fit onto a 3.5" disk)

If it is larger than 1.44MB please save your presentation on multiple 3.5" disks, CD (preferred) or a 100Mb Zip Disk.

Please label your presentation disks with your FIRST AND LAST NAME AND SESSION TIME IN CAPITAL LETTERS

Please bring a copy of your presentation in another presentation media (eg, Overhead transparencies or 3.5mm slides of each of your PowerPoint slides) to avoid hold ups if there are any technical problems.

You will be required to hand a copy of your PowerPoint presentation to the Conference Session Technician, one day prior to your oral session, to ensure it is loaded on to the main computer, ready for your presentation.

You will NOT be able to use your own personal computer or laptop for PowerPoint presentations.

Poster Instructions:

Poster dimensions should be no more than 0.7 meters wide (horizontal) and 1.2 meters high (vertical). Posters should be able to be fixed to the boards available by either pins or Velcro. Please ensure that you use a large font (print size) to make it easy to read and also limit the amount of writing on posters to only the key points.

Please ensure that you bring your posters with you to the conference and that you take your posters with you when you leave, we will not be responsible for posting your presentations to you if you leave them behind.
