Opportunities for students and volunteers
Work experience, student placements and volunteers
Student placements
AIMS researchers regularly supervise students completing postgraduate degrees.
Occasionally, the Institute offers high school or undergraduate university
students the opportunity to complete work experience at AIMS.
Volunteers
Volunteer opportunities are also available on an as-needed basis. Priority is
given to people with training in fields of direct interest to the Institute.
Please contact the research leader in your field of interest.
Please note that anyone utilising AIMS facilities under any circumstances other
than as employees for a period greater than two weeks (including paid
contractors) must be registered as a visitor by completing the following;
- Have an AIMS Employee as an agreed Sponsor
- Complete a
Visitor Registration Form
(PDF file - 96kb) in full
(inclusive of required attachments, such as identification and visa
information).
- Complete the relevant online AIMS workplace
OHS&E safety induction
If you are here for less than two weeks, you will need to sign
in daily at Reception ( conditions apply - contact visitor_coord@aims.gov.au
)
Safety induction
Everyone who works at AIMS is required to complete the
appropriate AIMS workplace OHS&E safety induction(s) prior to working on site.
