The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS)
is an internationally renowned, world leader in sustainable
development, conservation and management of tropical marine
environments. Our main research facility is located at Cape Ferguson,
50 km from Townsville where the majority of our research and support
personnel reside. AIMS also has research facilities in Perth WA and
Darwin NT.
AIMS is seeking a Technical Officer to work in conjunction with the
senior chemistry staff in the key areas of metabolite profiling and
isolation of natural products from marine organisms to further
understand the ecological roles of these chemicals in the marine
environment.
Ideally the candidate will have Bachelor of Science with a major in
chemistry and had 1-2 years experience in a similar position.
The position will be full-time (nine days per fortnight) for an
initial fixed term of 3 years, at a salary of AOF Level 3.3 – 3.6 $
55,449
– $60,409 per annum as determined by qualifications and
experience) plus up to 15.4% superannuation. Transport to/from work is
also provided.
