NOAA

AIMS and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have a strategic alliance to work together on projects at the international level, including the global census of coral reefs, CReefs..

NOAA’s >Coral Reef Watch has entered collaboration with AIMS and various other Australian partners to study the links between climate change and coral health. Oceanographic instruments are being deployed that will enable satellite sea surface temperatures to be better related to fine scale oceanographic processes on reefs and refine the hydrodynamic model being produced for Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef.

NOAA, alongside AIMS, is also heading up one of the three nodes of the CReefs project.
