The Institute has developed business relationships with clients and partners across many industries over the past 20 years (see current and past partnerships). Most of our industry partners have come from the fisheries, aquaculture, biotechnology, mining, tourism, agriculture and forestry sectors.
 
AIMS has a unique multidisciplinary mix of capabilities, allowing an integrated approach to tackling contemporary and future tropical marine issues. Our goal is to assist industry to achieve sustainability, to reduce environmental risk and to generate the knowledge needed for long-term viability.
 
The Institute’s primary business model emphasises a collaborative approach to adding value for our partners. Through co-investment, the Institute can provide the flexibility and responsiveness needed to capitalise on opportunities as they arise, providing a competitive edge for all parties.
