The Institute operates from facilities in Townsville Queensland, Darwin Northern Territory and Perth Western Australia.
About this Opportunity
You be responsible for taking a lead role in the advancement and management of the AIMS Photosynthetic Symbiont Culture Facility (PSCF) and contribute to the coral restoration research activities. As an experienced laboratory technician, you will initiate and facilitate research projects and support science research activities which utilise this facility.
As well as participate in field work to collect organisms, your work may involve the training and supervision of staff and visitors using the PSCF.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-leading organisation with attractive working conditions including a 9-day fortnight, generous leave entitlements, transportation to site, a salary range of $62,277 - $70,173 and 15.4% superannuation. This role is being offered with an immediate start for a fixed term to 30 June 2020.
You will have tertiary qualifications in Science with experience in algal culturing methods, algal physiology, algal biology and algal taxonomy. You will have a high degree of skill in using analytical instruments and be able to demonstrate the ability to coordinate activities within a multi-use laboratory facility.
